How BSTCs are calculated
BSTCs = usable kWh × STC factor, rounded down. From 1 May 2026, larger batteries are tapered:
0–14 kWh → 100% of STC value
14–28 kWh → 60% on the portion above 14 kWh
28–50 kWh → 15% on the portion above 28 kWh
Rebate value ($) = BSTCs × STC spot price. The STC factor reduces every 6 months — earlier installs receive more certificates.
